A core banking system is the software used to support a bank’s most common transactions.
Why is California Business Bank completing a core conversion?
California Business Bank wants to continue to offer the best in products and services to our clients, as well as maximize operational efficiencies. The core conversion is a major step in accomplishing both goals. We’re excited to share this with you!
Will my account number(s) stay the same?
Yes. You will have the same bank account number(s) you have currently for checking,
savings, money market, CDs, IRAs, and loans.
May I continue to use my current California Business Bank checks?
Yes, you may continue to use your California Business Bank checks. Please contact us when you are ready for a re-order and we’ll be glad to assist you.
May I continue to use my existing debit card?
Yes, you may continue to use your current debit card throughout conversion and at all times thereafter.
Will there be a period of time I do not have access to my funds due to the system’s conversion on March 22, 2019?
We do not anticipate there being any time when you will be unable to access your funds by debit card or check. We planned the conversion over a weekend (March 22nd – 24th) to minimize the impact on you, while offering complete access to your funds. However, please carry an alternative form of payment during conversion weekend in case California Business Bank experiences an unplanned disruption of service. When can I expect to receive my deposit account statement(s)?
Account statements will process on their normal cycle. As a precautionary measure, we recommend that you download your statements for the prior 12 months for your future reference.
Will my current direct deposits be affected?
No. Since your account number is not changing, all current direct deposits or automatic inbound payments will continue to be processed normally.
Will my online banking be affected?
The online banking system will be the same one that you use today. Your User IDs and passwords will remain the same.
Payee and payment history will remain in the system and you will continue to maintain single sign-on access to bill payment.
Your online banking access will be suspended at 5:00 p.m. PDT on Thursday, March 21st.
Mobile banking access will be suspended at 11:00 a.m. PDT on Thursday, March 21st.
Bill Payment services will be suspended at 12:01 a.m. PDT on Monday, March 18th.
Remote Deposit Capture will be suspended at 12:01 a.m. PDT on Wednesday, March 20th.
All payments previously scheduled for Friday, March 22nd will be processed on Monday, March 25th.
Access to online banking and bill payment services will be restored at 10:00 a.m. PDT on
Monday, March 25th.
Note the Bill Payment cutoff time will change to 1:00 p.m. PDT (from 5:00 p.m.) effective March 25th.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING EXTERNAL TRANSFERS
- External Transfers are transfers from your CBB account to an account at another bank.
- The information for External Transfers will not be carried over to the new system.
- External Transfers will be disabled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18th.
- External Transfers previously scheduled for Tuesday March 19th through Friday, March 22nd will process normally.
- You will need to re-establish your External Transfers and confirm a small dollar verification as you did when you first established the External Transfer.
- You may re-establish your External Transfers starting at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Monday March 25th by signing-on to online banking and following the instructions.
- External Transfers scheduled for the week of March 25th may require special handling by our Deposit Operations team until the Transfers are re-established. Update contact information:
Please review your contact information in your online banking profile. Please ensure it is current and complete, including your cell phone number and email address.
Will my mobile banking be affected?
Yes. On Monday, March 25th, please download and install new “CBB app” and follow the registration process. The current “CBB app” will not function after 5 p.m. PDT on Thursday, March 21st. You may download the new “CBB app” at:

Will I need to re-enroll in e-statements?
Yes. After conversion, you must re-enroll in the e-statement module of online banking in order to continue receiving e-statements. Re-enrolling is very easy and will take only a few moments. Simply sign-in to online banking, hover over the “Accounts” menu, then select “Account Statements” and follow the
If you previously had access to e-statements but did not utilize online banking, you must complete a few simple steps to re-enroll for e-statements. On March 25th or anytime thereafter, you may enroll in California Business Bank’s online banking service. Once this enrollment has been completed, you can re-enroll in e-statements within online banking by following the steps above.

Please call these numbers during normal business hours or from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PDT, Friday, March 22nd, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23rd, and from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PDT, Sunday, March 24th.
The Conversion Hotline team will also be available the week following conversion (March 25th – March 29th) from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PDT, daily.
